Pia grew up in Mexico City and is currently a senior at Barnard College, majoring in Neuroscience and Behavior with a minor in Computer Science. Prior to joining the Marlin Lab, she interned at Harvard Medical School’s Department of Biomedical Informatics, where she developed a platform to visualize population health data and track mobile clinic presence across the country. Her work as a translator for asylum seekers at the Asylum Support Clinic in New York City sparked her interest in how traumatic and stressful experiences can affect the brain. This curiosity led her to join the Marlin Lab, where she hopes to investigate the effects of stress in brain function and behavior.

Outside of the lab, Pia enjoys playing tennis at Riverside Park, solving New York Times games, and attending concerts.
